Letting go of prescribed outcomes
Each module is written to have “potential learning outcomes”. These are not prescriptive, as this educational program is not meant to be delivered or evaluated in the “teach to the test” approach.
The space that is created and held during a street college session is about welcoming in experiences, hard-learned lessons, deep curiosities and peer support that exists around any given topic. The things that come up, the stories and lessons that may come forward will be different on any given day and are exactly the ones that needed to come up that day. If a topic feels like it has more to dig into; then linger. Spend time holding space for the complexity and wealth of experience the group may have. If a topic doesn’t ignite interest or passion from the group, move on to something that does.
